AHMED AL JABER AIRBASE

After the liberation of Kuwait, it became imperative that the

air defence force become operational at the earliest possible moment.

Thus an emergency plan was formulated to restore the Ahmed Al Jaber Base which had been badly damaged by the enemy.

This involved the construction of a large number of steel buildings, including the hangar for F18 fighter aircraft parts, administration buildings, refuelling facilities and new taxiways and aprons for aircraft parking.

Client: M.A Kharafi for Ministry of Defence.

Services Performed:
Architectural/Engineering Design and Construction Supervision.

Cost: KD. 11.16 million.

Completion: 1993.

Project Data:
33,056 sq.m floor area of built space within the military base.

Gulf Consult undertook design of infrastructure, architectural, structural and electro-mechanical systems including foam deluge and foam monitors for protection of aircraft.
