clearance of all goods and payment of all customs dues shall take place at the border itself.

Gulf Consult was commissioned to undertake the planning of two completely new border stations to replace the existing facilities together with all building and infrastructure design.

Each border station consists of buildings for customs inspect-ions of all types of goods, animals and produce and new passenger/car booths with additional facilities for HAJ pilgrims at Salmi.

Additional consultancy work undertaken included:

  • Financial feasibility studies (In association with Healey & Baker of UK), to judge the extent to which private capital

    Location: Kuwait-Saudi border at Nuwaiseeb and Salmi.

    Client: Public Utilities Management Co.

    Services Performed:
    Studies and Preliminiary Design.

    Cost: KD. 16 million.

    Completion: 2002.

    Project Data:
    For each location, 23 major buildings on 1 km2 site areas, together with all site works and utilities.
