In 1984 the ministry of Public Works commissioned consult-
ants to design a series of planned and fully landscaped public gardens.
Gulf Consult was awarded the six gardens in Area D.
The elements in each garden included tree and shrub planting, lawn a lawn areas, children's play area's, toilets, public meeting rooms, cafetaria, shade structures and sports facilities.
The total are designed amounts to 2,030,000 m2.
The project was carried out in association with Chris Blanford Associates, UK.
