NEW PRIVATE AIRPORT TERMINAL

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)
decided to upgrade the services at Kuwait International Airport by inviting proposals from investors to construct a new private terminal and associated aircraft facilities on a BOT basis.

Gulf Consult were appointed by the winning consortium of investors to design and supervise the construction of a new airport terminal building of striking architectural character, along with all associated aviation facilities.

The Terminal has a total floor area of 7000 sq.m. over three floors and one basement and contains passenger and baggage handling facilities, lounges, offices and commercial outlets.



Project Details



Location: Kuwait International Airport.

Client: Royal Aviation Company, on behalf of Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Services Performed:
Design and Construction Supervision Services.

Cost: KD. 10.34 million.

Completion: 2008.

Project Data:
Private Airport Terminal and associated aircraft facilities, including Apron of 100,000sq.m., Hangar, Aircraft Shelters, landscaping and car parking.

The project has its own dedicated aircraft apron and two aircraft shelters for 9 aircraft, with enclosed hangar to follow as a Phase II development.

Gulf Consult were supported during the design phase by Mott McDonald of UK who provided specialist input on airport master planning, traffic forecasting, aircraft movements and passenger circulation.
